RETURN OF SCHOOL BOOKBOOKS 2023/2024
Under the terms of
Manual to Support the Reuse of School Textbooks, approved by Order No. 921/2019, of January 24, it is necessary to return the textbooks made available free of charge by the school or purchased with vouchers from the MEGA platform.
Pursuant to article 157 of Decree-Law no. 17/2024, in the academic year 2023/2024,
students in the 1st Cycle of Basic Education are exempt from returning their textbooks at the end of this academic year
, and must be returned in the following academic year.
According to guidelines from the Ministry of Education, in the current academic year, students from the 5th to the 9th year of schooling who received free textbooks must return them under the terms indicated below.
School textbooks must be delivered to the school in a bag and in good condition, which implies that they are not torn, erased or written, so students and guardians should take this situation into account in advance. Manuals can be handed in by students .
Failure to return textbooks or return them in a state of conservation that, for reasons attributable to the student, makes their reuse impossible, prevents the granting of this type of support in the following academic year.
Parents who choose not to return their textbooks and wish to refund their cover value should contact the Administrative Services,
